GANSON UK AND ROI
Over the past 24 Months we have been working in association with GANSON UK and GANSON ROI on a number of prestigious school contracts. These have included:
Scoil Chormaic, Stephenstown, Balbriggan, Co Dublin
A new two storey 750 pupil Primary School comprising SNU, a GP Hall and ancillary accommodation.
St Bronaghs Primary School, Rostrevor, Co Down
The build consisted of a traditional build 7-classroom school on the site of the previous Convent of Mercy Primary School, along with the construction of a new youth club building, sports hall, community and games room, and ancillary accommodation.
Construction begins on transformational campus enhancement project to improve student experience at SOAS
The redevelopment of Senate House, will enable SOAS, to offer state-of-the-art facilities and modern learning and teaching spaces for staff and students.
Construction firm Graham has been appointed to lead on the build of the project. The building contractor will also work to reduce the environmental impact of the renovations and will be using new technologies to ensure the building is environmentally sustainable. This project will be part of the pilot BREEAM Excellence 2014 award (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method), which is the industry standard for best practice in sustainable design.
Willow Dene SEN Primary School
This £12.5M Design and Build project awarded to Grahams is for the demolition and new build of a Special Educational Needs (SEN) primary school building located at the existing Willow Dene Primary School site on Swingate Lane in Plumstead is
The scheme will will include a swimming pool, refurbishment of the existing foundation year block (1,238 sqm GIFA) and formation of new external play areas, car parking and landscaping.
J and N joinery is to be involved in the later stages of the build and will help with the trimming out of the new buildings and refurb of existing buildings.
Ordnance Unity Centre value £4.4M
Design and construction of a replacement community hub containing a new library, GP surgery, NHS Dentist and a community hall.
The development will bring much needed investment to North East Enfield while providing essential services all under one roof for local residents. This is a 14 month programme of Grahams of Dromore.

Realt na Mara, Donacarney Schools Project
Glasgiven Contracts are the main contractor on this first stage of the New national schools Project. The site will feature two new boys and girls schools with a completion date set for mid 2014.
The new Realt na Mara school project will be one of the largest primary school campuses in the history of the state and the schools with this stage being in the value of €13,000,000.
Simon Building - Manchester University
J and N joinery have recently been involved in supporting Graham Construction in the second phase of works to Manchester University.
The project involves extensive demolition of existing labs to facilitate fit-out works for three new lecture theatres. J and N Joinery will assist in completing various aspects of 2nd fix works in the final stages of project completion
The project is valued at £3.5M and is scheduled to commence in late January with completion mid-September 2013.
Magherafelt Primary School
Glasgiven Contracts are the main contractor of this new primary school and nursery school which is set to accommodate up to 290 primary pupils and 26 full time and 104 part time nursery pupils. Location of the site is the former RIR (Royal Irish Regiment) base Station Road, Magherafelt, Co. Londonderry, N Ireland.
Newcastle Primary School
Based at the Beechfield Park site this 3.1 million primary school and nursery unit, carried out on behalf of Glasgiven Contracts Ltd has provided state of the art facilities for the community and a modern, purpose built school for the children.
Castlewellan Road Social Housing
On behalf of O’Hare & McGovern J and N Joinery worked as the main joinery contractor on this £13 million development of 130 homes at Castlewellan Road, Newcastle. The mainly two and three bedroom properties include mainly terraced and semi detached houses, together with a smaller number of apartments.
Springvale Training, Belfast.
J & N Joinery have successfully secured a contact with Belfast based Mascott working on the new Springvale Training Centre. The contract includes all joinery work including roof joisting and structural studding. Moving on to the complete joinery fit-out of the campus
BMC's e3 campus is situated on the south side of the Springfield Road, adjacent to the Millennium Outreach Centre.
The £16m facility began commencement on 31 March 2012. It provides an innovative learning environment which more closely resembles a modern 21st century workspace than a traditional classroom environment.
Olympic Village, London
Located within the Olympic Park J & N Joinery has been working on behalf of Ramsay Fit & Build Ltd, Belfast in completing the fit-out of both the ‘Superdrug’ pharmacy and ‘Perfume Shop’ flagship retail outlet.
St Marys on the Hill
Based on the Glengormly road out of Belfast, and designed by Kennedy Fitzgerald & Associates, Belfast, St Marys Catholic Church has extended its property with the addition of a new church hall and nursery. Carried out on behalf of TAL Ltd this new building incorporates a ‘corkscrew’ style roof which changes a total of 10o pitch from one end of the roof to the other resulting in its curved like shape.
Queens University School Of Architecture
Located at 15, Chlorine Gardens, Belfast this new extension to QUB is the home of the first and second year architecture students. Undertaken by TAL Ltd, on this project we were employed to install a high performance exterior cladding system supplied by ‘Trespa’ which included both secret and rivet fixed panels to aluminium railing system.
Mersery Street
Located near the Old Mersey St Primary School, East Belfast this 13million pound social housing scheme development by Connswater Homes is referred to as Connswater 3 development of the Mersey Street development and consists of 88 houses and 8 apartments. Working on behalf of TAL ltd this project was completed over a period of 20 months and has been nominated for a number of awards.
